Random files are always opened in binary format?
Pl clarify if random files are always opened in binary format?
Sequential files are opened in text format?
Are there any advantages of sequential mode over random mode?

Re: Random files are always opened in binary format?
The only difference between binary format and text format on Windows is whether end-of-line conversions are done ("\r\n" --> "\n" for reading, vice versa for writing).
On Unix there is no difference.
