Need the right tool for the job. If it has a hole in the center, it could be a TORX screw, which requires a TORX screwdriver (phillips) with a star pattern

    Re: open Laptop

I open it but I realize that my t41 thinkpad laptop fan doesn't work properly anymore

I am lookin for a cheap fan online to buy, the cheapest one found is $8.79
I offered a bid of $1 for one in another website but the bid value has risen up to $16 so far. am still waiting for an impossible drop
I am sad because I am unable to do anything now. Really a futile situation I am in

I think you have to show your laptop to any good hardware person.
