Streaming Web cam Video In Both Party
Hello to all, i need to develop an application that does VOIP call. In the same time, i need to send video capture from web cam to the callee.
I using pjlib for VOIP and QT for GUI.
http://nashruddin.com/Streaming_Open...k#introduction
I have this resources.
Do we need another thread for web cam frame grabber and one thread for voip calling ?
My task is to discover the callee IP using SIP URI register to public server. Then, i send the web cam to the calless' address.
This is my final year project.
Please suggest the tool to use or idea to start.
I wonder what thread does window Thread provide and its socket API.
Please help.
Thanks.

Re: Streaming Web cam Video In Both Party
For streaming of videos you can use RTSP and RTP protocols.
You can use Live555 library for it.
Hope this might help

The protocol is too difficult for me. I just want to implement using TCP/IP.
Hope you can understand me.
Any help on window thread and window socket programming is greatly appreciated.
I wonder what is the easiest threading API in window.
Thanks.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Streaming Web cam Video In Both Party
There are specific forums for sockets and threads, post your questions there.
I don't know about them being the easiest,
but you can start from here
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...45(VS.85).aspx
and for cross-reference, you can research Berkeley sockets (BSD)
for threading

Re: Streaming Web cam Video In Both Party
the SIP protocol does support various codecs, and you can negotiate video with it, too. Is that an option for you?

Re: Streaming Web cam Video In Both Party
AFAIK, there is no video streaming support in pjlib.
Do you know any VOIP library that does support video streaming ?
I plan to use QThread and Qt datagram.
The thing bothering me now is
1. discover ip of caller and caller.
2. Port of server and client.
I want them to send/received video at different port.
Thanks for your help.
