    CStatusBar Display Fails to Update Sometimes

    If I run my program under XP in one of the Windows compatibility modes, the status bar display refreshes completely as intended. However, without running in a compatibility mode, the status bar display fails to refresh after something, e.g., the task bar or another program window, obstructs it. I am using Invalidate(), UpdateWindow(), etc..

    I hope this is a common problem and someone can tell me off the top of their head how to eliminate this problem.
