    Windows side by side assemblies

    Hi Friends,

    Input:

    OS: Windows XP SP2

There is console application (.exe) compiled in Visual Studio 2008 (vc9) with share runtime library.

There are no files in WinSxS for vc9 libraries and manifest.

There are required dependencies files (crt libraries and manifest) present in console application directory.

    Problem:

    1. If console application has manifest, it failed to run and gives error prompt as "... R6034. Loading C runtime library is incorrectly". After press ok again error prompt as "Application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). ...."

    2. If console application doesn't have manifest, it failed to run and gives error prompt as "Application is failed to start because the applicatin configuration is incorrect."

So, please help me to run the application successfully.

    Thank you.

The dependencies should probably be in the correct folders for VC9 to let it work.
Take a look at the following article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms235291.aspx
