Developing Flowchart editor in java

I'd start by googling for 'java flowchart editor' and have a look at the free software that's already available and see if you can use it to fulfill your requirements.

I want to develope a flowchart editor, not to use a existant one.

Ok so just look at what other people have already written and see how they went about it. Looking at several different existing system may give you some good ideas and what to include/leave put of your system.
