Eclipse key mappings are confused.
Hey,
I'm trying to use eclipse on Win 7, but for some reason it is screwing up my keys.
For example, when I press '{' it ends up displaying a '^'. Im pretty sure that this is what would happen if I had a french keyboard layout, but I'm pretty sure that my language settings in Windows 7 are set to use Canadian English. Firefox or notepad don't have a problem, so I guess that means it's eclipse.
Any idea how to fix it? Right now I'm just copying and pasting symbols lol.
Thanks!

Re: Eclipse key mappings are confused.
You might be better off posting on an Eclipse forum rather than a Java forum.
Are you sure both your Regional settings and your Keyboard are set to Canadian English. I'm not sure how you change the keyboard settings in Windows 7, but under XP you go to control panel -> Regional and language Options, then select the Languages tab and click the details button.

Yeah, I already checked the language settings on windows, and they're set normally.

Re: Eclipse key mappings are confused.
Try a simple Java program to output the default locale to see if the locale according to Java is Canadian English ie
Code:
Locale loc = Locale.getDefault();
System.out.println("country = "+loc.getCountry()+", lang = "+loc.getLanguage());
