Lightbulb Event Log + WMI + Slowness

I am using Win32_NETLogEvent Class + VB.NET in order to access event log in a remote computer and apply some filters on it. And it has been nothing but slowness and more slowness.

I tried 3 diferent ways to access the event log:
    1st just working on WMI
2nd tried to move to a list
3rd tried to copy to an array
I know, basically it's is all the same... I know...

I have 2 diferent situations on my filters:
1st Need to obtain all diferent types of sources, and I am not able to filter the result in less than 5 min for 68K records
2nd Need to filter inside the event log description.

If you have any experience that made faster for you to access it, please let me know.

    Thanks a Lot.

Try Powershell 2.0 (makes it easy. DOS like commands)
