Internal implementation of stil iterators

I am very confused as to what an iterator implementation looks like ?
Does the class have a pointer ?
When we say that the iterators are tied in with the containers, does it mean that every container has a private member which of type iterator ?

I am trying to practice how all the stl containers and algorithms are implemented internally

Have you checked the source code? Its all templated and in header files supplied with your compiler.
Get Microsoft Visual C++ Express here or CodeBlocks here.
Get STLFilt here to radically improve error messages when using the STL.
Get these two can't live without C++ libraries, BOOST here and Loki here.
Check your code with the Comeau Compiler and FlexeLint for standards compliance and some subtle errors.
Always use
code tags
to make code legible and preserve indentation.
Do not ask for help writing destructive software such as viruses, gamehacks, keyloggers and the suchlike.
