C++/UNIX/Linux - Software Developer - Real-time Market Data Team - London



AAA rated, multinational company is currently looking for highly talented C++/UNIX/Linux software developers to join their real-time market data team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a highly successful company where your work will have a direct influence on its growth.

The Role



You will be working within a team responsible for the core development of critical systems, providing high quality software code, participating in the architecture changes and redesigning the core functionality. Your team will then direct the delivery of this information to other internal programming teams.



This role requires strong technical and programming skills, as well as an ability to interact with various internal and external contacts at any level, particularly building close relationships with the exchanges (LSE, NYSE, CBOT, etc) and other R&D teams. You must have proven ability of managing your own projects as well as familiarity with real-time information processing and market data. The right candidate will also be a self-motivated team player with an analytical yet creative mind that enjoys working in a busy environment and developers who will quickly establish themselves in this critical position with the commitment to meet challenging goals.

Requirements



- Solid C++ development experience is essential, as is exposure to the full software development life cycle.

- Knowledge of programming with UNIX/Linux is essential.

- Experience with Communications protocols, e.g. TCP/IP.

- Able to perform detailed analysis of market data feed specifications and apply this to the Company’s environment.

- Familiarity and basic concepts of multithreading.

- Strong at managing own projects and pulling together resources from other dependant teams to complete projects on time.

- Knowledge of real-time market data applications is an asset.

- Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills.

- Understanding of STL, Design Patterns, Object-Oriented design.

- Effective written and verbal communications, including strong communication ability with non technical individuals.

- Previous team leading experience is a plus.
