Anyone some advice how I can unit test a flatfile parser? Does this makes sense? Any best practices?

This is what I think I can do:

var input = "0014324240723587907CONTOSO CORPORATION 34, WEST AVENUE ";
var output = MyTurboParser.Parse(input);
Assert.IsEqual(output.Department, "001");
Asser.IsEqual(output.Name, "CONTOSO CORPORATION ");

Does this make sense?
