Or, ( what would have been better and proper forum usage ) would it have been so much trouble LEAVING the original question in tact, then REPLYING to that question saying that it has been solved, then MARKING YOUR THREAD RESOLVED.??
...
Is it really so much trouble deleting your post??
Hannes, I always thought that the start post of a thread cannot be deleted (except the case when moderator deletes it)...
But I may be wrong (I didn't test it since a half decade, at least)
Hmm, maybe I have been a moderator too long that I have forgotten how things used to work. OK, then I am wrong. I apologise to you and the OP. The fact of the matter still is, that a post saying nvm is absolutely useless for fellow forum members experiencing the same problem. IMHO, it is selfish to do that. Instead of doing what the OP did, he could have asked a mod to remove the thread, and I wouldn't have had to blow a gasket...

I decided to ask the same question in a different forum because no one has answered it in here after more than a day.
I think it would be more selfish to ask the same question in two different forums in order to get as much answers as possible.

Well. I can understand your impatience...

Well, sometimes it may be correct.
But what I cannot understand and cannot accept is:

Sharing knowledge is not selfish. Asking a question at two different places is also not selfish. The chances that I, for example, will ever see your question in the other forum, is quite small - the internet is extremely big.
I also understand your impatience. I am also impatient some times when I am struggling. You have to realise that 99% of the people helping you on any forum are working people, so they might not always have time to respond. Another factor may be how the question was aksed.
The point I am trying to make is that when a question is asked, millions of people struggling with the same issue, will be reading it and hopefully find an answer. With this thread, it is now impossible, because we do not know what you have asked, thus rendering this thread useless.
Keep in mind, it is not only you who has encountered or will encounter your problem. Please help us do our job as well
