Using java to plot graph for amplitude, frquency , pitch etc of a sound as an input

hi ,

i've got a mini project on java. I gotta take a sound input in a java program and accordingly draw the graphs for amplitude, pitch, frquency etc for the sound input. Where should i start with.I am new to Java Sound API.
