Can we get rid of that "Thank you for logging in" screen? In my opinion such redirections should be kept for failure notifications only.
Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place.
Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by
definition, not smart enough to debug it.

Okay, can anybody explain how I can manage my articles now? The main site requires me to log on with e-mail address, and if I do specify one, it says it never knew me. The same way it does not accept my forums login. I'm kinda stuck.
PS. FYI, back in 2000 I lost my previous CG account, and had to re-register. I really hope now I get my articles back under my control...
The redirect item is a part of vBulletin I believe.
I used to log in via the top right textboxes; I was never presented with the redirect screen before the site update - so, I suspect there is a vBulletin setting somewhere in there that can turn it off?
It is both annoying (as others pointed out), and impacts productivity.
I'll need to have someone look into the redirect link to see if something can be done.
On the issue with managing articles.....
The site has changed (obviously). If you need to update an article, you can simply send the article changes to us and we'll have them made. If you send a new copy, we'll replace the old one with the new.
Due to a change in the CMS being used, you no longer use the article interface to save and edit articles. Rather, it is used to simply submit new articles.
You should also note that there are a few other changes that have occurred as well. The way you add images is a little bit different as well. The tag format has changed. You also now have the ability to add tags to the article for the download files. This gives you more control over where these go.
By the way: fro those who never saw it, it is useful: it comes out for example if you receive a mail tjhat link to a new private message, you are logged out and you click on the link in mail. That is: you will see it if you saved a link to a private page in codeguru, then you logout then you try to reach the private page via saved link.

...at present time, using mainly Net 4.0, Vs 2010
Special thanks to Lothar "the Great" Haensler, Chris Eastwood , dr_Michael, ClearCode, Iouri and
all the other wonderful people who made and make Codeguru a great place.
Come back soon, you Gurus.
Also, I don't know if you guys noticed, but IIRC, the icon of the site (the one displayed by browsers in the title bar/tabs) was a CG icon - now it's the generic vBulletin icon.
Wow, I had no idea that VBForums is not just about VB forums! There's also C#, C++, Java, etc.
Anyway, as I understood, the update was, on the forums side, mostly about disconnecting the main site login from forums login - and VBF don't seem to be connected to the CG main site in that way.
As for this site - funny how doing an update like that ends up having rather curious side-effects; I mean, what does the site icon have to do with anything...
Might it be some repository paths have changed too? Or might it be they had to change some code and did not see some functions did more than one operation or even a different operation as you could think by name of function? Thus skipping one might have odd results...

Well, I like the old CG icon much more than the new one!
Brad!
If it is not a new CG politics, could you restore the old icon?
Yes, we'll get the icon updated. I'm also not sure why it changed.
The forum wasn't really updated (yet), it primarily (as was stated) was disconnected from the main site registration system. Now you can update your email and password (etc) without going though the main site system.
A big problem:
discovered registration of new users is "disabled by admin".

EDIT: NO, the following paage is not the correct one to create an account to be able to
post on CG forums. So how could a new user ?
---
That page should redirect to http://www.codeguru.com/accountManag...gistrationForm
Or a newby stepping in the forum will not join us.
