How do I get the most out of monodevelop
i am somewhat new to c sharp, and a little newer to programming. Unfortunatly I am not on windows so I can't use visual studio. However I downloaded Monodevelop to program in and the interface is kind of confusing. I am working on an open source project I forked from another on Github, downloaded it to my hard drive and I can't access the solution in mono, it gives me an error depending on where I put it. Sometimes the solution shows up, and when Im done with it, it dissappears. It looks a lot like VB, but doesnt have the visual part to it.

It operates pretty similarly to Visual Studio. You open the sln or csproj file to work with the solution and away you go. What error does it give you? Could you describe it in more detail or take a screenshot?
