ugh. Can you verify if there is any specific info when you get the DB errors? Plus, can you tell me what you were doing?

    Thanks.

Re: So did the vBulletin guys give up or what?

    • It started this morning with CSS problems. CodeGuru took about 30 seconds to load per page. However, once loaded, the CSS was completely missing. Everything was just jumbled text down the whole page.
    • After that, I tried opening both the client-side and server-side forums. They two took about 30 seconds without CSS loading.
    • I then tried to refresh each page. That resulted in an error and SQL dump...but I didn't bother to copy it down. Something about session_id if I recall. Unfortunately, that fieldname is common and I would expect that in almost every web application with a login system that I would write.
    • Then I tried to reply in this thread but the Quick Reply kept taking forever. Attempting to refesh brought back the database errors.

And all i was doing was browsing the site, trying to view the threads in the forum...

However the last few days, it seems that this problem is not reoccurring..

I should say that I haven't had a DB Error message for quite a while now - a week or two

Well, I haven't had a DB Error messages since a couple of weeks either.
Now I hope they will fix some other serious bugs like:
    • "wrong" text wrap (if not say no text wrap at all!) in the edit window...
    • absence of tree from 19 smile icons in the smiley dropdown in the toolbar.

Absoutely! The forum just crashed again while I was replying to a user's post (in the C++ forum) and I had to wait eight (yes, EIGHT) minutes before I could access the forums again to see if my post had succeeded.

I then came to post this comment here - and got another crash (DB error) when I pressed the 'Go Advanced' button. Followed by another 4 minute wait

I'm definitely going to start looking for another programmer's forum now. This problem's been going on for way too long.
