Re: Need jdk for windows 98 second edition

    Hi,

I already try. but no use.

    I have one doubt.

I like to run my java jar file in to win 98 SE PC.

    I installed jre1.5 version.

But my jar file doesn't run. It was changed like a Word file.

When i was run the jar file the below error message appeared like

" Could not be found main program. Error occurred exit the program"

jre enough For run the jar file under win 98SE. Then why problem occurred ?

    Pls clear me.
    Regards,

It's so long since I installed java on win98 I can't remember what the procedure is but from what you have said it looks like jar files aren't associated with java.exe. If jars have a word icon then presumably they are associated with word so you will need to change the file association. And before you ask, sorry but I can't remember how to do that on Win98. However there are probably sites that will show how to do it or you could ask in a windows forum.
