Gallery not displaying in IE

I have a problem with this site: http://www.ralphhodgson.co.uk/people.shtml

It renders fine in FF, Safari and Chrome but completely fails in IE!
I cannot figure out why. I have been through everything and cannot find a reason.
Help!

and rearranged it a bit.

I believe JQuery is Javascript so this isn't the right forum.
I'll ask the mods to move it to client side scripting for you.
