I am hoping someone out there likes a challenge and would welcome the opportunity to show a new guy the ropes. I am familiar with Crystal and have created some very rudimentary and basic reports. I am tasked with creating a report that will not only flow down specifications to our supply base, but will automatically detect and highlight changes to the database form one report to the next. If the database contained any type of time/date identification for entries or changes this would be a lot easier. I would like help in creating a formula that compares a specific field in the current crystal report with the new data is is reading and highlights the text for that record to identify the change. Alternately I could use a Boolean and any FALSE would show the change. I have no training in visual basic other than what I have learned myself or picked up from others, so you know I don't know much. Any assistance at all would be very much appreciated.
