XML and the future. Any thought?
Hi, I'm new here but I'm puzzled for not finding any postings on the XML Forum (Threads 0 to 0 of 0).
So my question is, what is your opinion about the future and relevancy of XML?
If not XML, what are the most successful alternatives?
Just a thought.
Thanks

I think XML has a very bright future because it allows people to share information in one specific format between two indepentend applications. I wonder why people don't talk about it.

Re: XML and the future. Any thought?
Its used widely in enterprise solutions with webservices and SOAP messages and thus, wont go away completely for a while. Now the trend might be going a bit more towards REST which often use JSON, that is certainly a successful alternative.
