    TextBox Return

I have a TextBox that is multiline:

    <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" TextMode="MultiLine" Rows="5" Width="1000" Height="100" runat="server"></asp:TextBox>

As you type it rolls over to the next line.

What I want to dp is make some sort of carriage return befor it rolls over.

    Is this possible?

    Re: TextBox Return

There are a number of things you could do.. however we first need to know what sort of final effect you are looking for..

For starters, pressing enter on a multiline textbox does insert a carriage return.

Also depending of the width of the users display, the textbox may self adjust it's width, so formatted text on your side will look good but crappy to some one else..

General consensus is that there should be no line breaks except where they are needed, and text must roll over to the next line according to the users browser width...
