Re: help with algorithm for pascal

The algorithm for finding the sum of 'n' numbers is to add each of the numbers in turn to a total value initialised to 0.

The algorithm for finding the average of 'n' nunbers is to divide their sum by n.

Algorithms are independent of any programming language. Once you have the algorithm then it can be implemented in the required language. Before an implementation of this can be suggested, in what form are the numbers held? Are they already in an array? Are they entered as part of a program? Are they read from a file?

Is this homework? Note that this a c++ forum and not a pascal forum. I'll help with what I can but I haven't programmed in pascal for over 20 years!
