What end is the majority of your professional work in?

Debating with someone about what the average programmer does for a living. Im sure that it's always been backend code since it's the most complex, with today's climate of cloud computing, and the tools to make interfaces visually, I'm pretty sure that full time GUI developers are quite rare.

Darn, I forgot a third category. Hmm, if you do embedded coding, check backend.

Are you going to do the same poll for some of the other forums as well - java, c# etc? The results for those languages also would be interesting.
All advice is offered in good faith only. All my code is tested (unless stated explicitly otherwise) with the latest version of Microsoft Visual Studio (using the supported features of the latest standard) and is offered as examples only - not as production quality. I cannot offer advice regarding any other c/c++ compiler/IDE or incompatibilities with VS. That would be interesting, I'll bet different languages have different extent of where people code, but I'm just curious about C++.
