Re: help about static const
It is hard to help you without seeing your actual code.
What if you replace
Code:
static const u32 Te0[256] = {
with
Code:
static const unsigned int Te0[256] = {

Re: help about static const
On my MSVC, your code snippet compiles OK.
For your system, what is the size of an int? Have you tried changing the typedef of u32 to
Code:
typedef unsigned long int u32;
All advice is offered in good faith only. All my code is tested (unless stated explicitly otherwise) with the latest version of Microsoft Visual Studio (using the supported features of the latest standard) and is offered as examples only - not as production quality. I cannot offer advice regarding any other c/c++ compiler/IDE or incompatibilities with VS. Nd what prevent you to comment out these typedefs and replace u32 with unsigned int or unsigned long?

You need to be aware of the sizes of the integers on that ancient compiler. Turbo C++ 4.5 is almost 20 years old. 20 years ago, ints were usually 2 bytes, not 4 bytes in length. The code you're compiling assumes that ints are 4 bytes.
So your typedef for u32 is wrong. If anything, maybe you need this:
Code:
typedef unsigned long u32;
The long type for that compiler is 32-bits (as far as I remember).

Paul McKenzie
