    GetVersionString()

    Sorry - but this question needs someone who can read my mind! (or at least, someone who's good at guesswork... )

    Most MSVC resource files (".rc") contain a block of information with some common strings, such as ProductVersion. For some reason I've got it in the back of my mind that there's a simple function for returning the product version string (something like GetVersionString() or GetProductVersion() or something similar). But when I type those terms into MSDN, the only results which come up are for .NET. I don't seem to get any hits for conventional C / C++.

    And yet I'm sure I used something like this, as far back as MSVC 6. I'm probably getting mixed up with something else. Can anyone guess at what I might be thinking of

    Re: GetVersionString()

    Some great links there, Victor. Thanks! GetFileVersionInfo is probably the one I was thinking of.
