Question Hi, Im new to this forum and need help with vb6.0 MSDXM.OCX could not load?

Hi, I just installed windows 8.1 to my new computer and this program I have made worked when I was using windows 7 64 , but now I get this message saying (" msdxm.ocx could not be loaded") this happened when I moved to windows 8, I don't know if this is a visual basic 6.0 problem or a windows 8, because I'm trying to open my vb6.0 source code and thats what comes up when I open it, now I have done some stuff to try, I put the msdxm.ocx in my folder will my source code is and that did not work I even put that ocx in system32 and SysWOW64 folders and still get the message when trying to open the source code. I have tried to register it but not that good to windows 8, I think there is to register in system32 and SysWOW64 right. What do you guys think I should do. Thanks for reading this post.

Some controls don't work in Windows 8, and that is one of them. I'd use VB.Net or C# and upgrade by hand.

Hi, thanks for the reply, is there away that I can upgrade msdxm.ocx to a new one or something familiar to that ocx that will replace it. It's a really big program. Could this work. I am making a new version of my software in vb.net 2013 but I need to still update this just till I get the other one done. I have a really big user base with this program and need to upgrade it with updates just till I'm done with the other one. Thanks
