I'm having trouble deploying java programs
i've been trying to deploy my java program so it can run outside of the IDE (NetBeans) but i can't do that in the command window. it keeps telling me "java is not recognised as an internal or external command". i installed my JRE but still thesame thing. what do i do?

Re: I'm having trouble deploying java programs
1. go to cmd and type 'java' and press enter. If a long list appears, i.e. jre is installed. In other case, try to re-install the program.
2. Right-Click you program icon in netbeans and click 'Clean and Build'. If your code is error free, the IDE will compile it and make a runnable jar file for external use in 'dist' directory of you project folder.

Re: I'm having trouble deploying java programs
To see if the JRE program will execute, Find the java.exe file in the installed JRE's bin folder. Copy the full path to the java.exe file and use that in the command prompt with the -version option:
Code:
C:\Users\Norm>"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_91\bin\java.exe" -version
java version "1.8.0_91"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_91-b15)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 25.91-b15, mixed mode)
Note if the path contains a space, be sure to wrap it in "s
If you don't get this response, there is probably something wrong with your installation.
