How do I deal with this error?
Hi, ALL,
Code:
1>------ Build started: Project: dbinterface, Configuration: Debug Win32 ------
1>Build started 5/29/2016 3:51:25 PM.
1>InitializeBuildStatus:
1> Touching "Debug\dbinterface.unsuccessfulbuild".
1>ClCompile:
1> All outputs are up-to-date.
1>C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft.Cpp\v4.0\Microsoft.CppBuild.targets(1151,5): warning MSB8012: TargetPath(C:\Users\Igor\OneDrive\Documents\dbhandler_app\dbhandler\Debug\dbinterface.lib) does not match the Library's OutputFile property value (C:\Users\Igor\OneDrive\Documents\dbhandler_app\dbinterface\vc_mswud\dbinterface.lib). This may cause your project to build incorrectly. To correct this, please make sure that $(OutDir), $(TargetName) and $(TargetExt) property values match the value specified in %(Lib.OutputFile).
1>Lib:
1> Microsoft (R) Library Manager Version 10.00.40219.01
1> Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
1>
1> "/OUT:C:\Users\Igor\OneDrive\Documents\dbhandler_app\dbinterface\vc_mswud\dbinterface.lib" /NOLOGO vc_mswud
1>LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'vc_mswud'
1>
1>Build FAILED.
1>
1>Time Elapsed 00:00:00.93
========== Build: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0 skipped ==========
and this is what I have in the "Project Properties -> Linker -> Command Line":
Code:
/OUT:"C:\Users\Igor\OneDrive\Documents\dbhandler_app\dbinterface\vc_mswud\dbinterface.lib" /NOLOGO
I don't understand this. Where the extra "vc_mswud" is coming from? Should I just delete some file to be regenerated? If yes - which one?
But more importantly - isn't the link command comes from the project?
I'm just trying to put all build files in one directory.
Thank you.
P.S.: I'm using MSVC 2010 Pro under Win 8.1.

Re: How do I deal with this error?
I'd recommend you first to fix the warning MSB8012...

Re: How do I deal with this error?
C:\Users\Igor\OneDrive\Documents\dbhandler_app\dbinterface\vc_mswud\dbinterface.lib
Does the folder vc_mswud exist?

Re: How do I deal with this error?
Hi, guys,
2 2kaud:
Yes, it does. The problem is the extra vc_mswud after /NOLOGO in my build log which is not present in the project properties.
Thank you.

Re: How do I deal with this error?
Hi, guys,
I rolled back to the previous copy of the dbinterface.vcxproj and the project built successful.
So, now, I would like to have everything in one directory: all object files and lib file. And this directory should be dbinterface/vc_mswud. This was my ultimate goal when I started playing with this project.
Here is the successful build log:
Code:
1>------ Build started: Project: dbinterface, Configuration: Debug Win32 ------
1>Build started 5/30/2016 4:41:49 PM.
1>PrepareForBuild:
1> Creating directory "C:\Users\Igor\OneDrive\Documents\dbhandler_app\dbhandler\Debug\".
1>InitializeBuildStatus:
1> Creating "Debug\dbinterface.unsuccessfulbuild" because "AlwaysCreate" was specified.
1>ClCompile:
1> stdafx.cpp
1>Lib:
1> dbinterface.vcxproj -> C:\Users\Igor\OneDrive\Documents\dbhandler_app\dbhandler\Debug\dbinterface.lib
1>FinalizeBuildStatus:
1> Deleting file "Debug\dbinterface.unsuccessfulbuild".
1> Touching "Debug\dbinterface.lastbuildstate".
1>
1>Build succeeded.
1>
1>Time Elapsed 00:00:01.69
========== Build: 1 succeeded, 0 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0 skipped ==========
And this is what I have in the Project Properties:
For the C/C++ Command Line:
Code:
/ZI /nologo /W4 /WX- /Od /Oy- /D "WIN32" /D "_DEBUG" /D "_LIB" /D "_UNICODE" /D "UNICODE" /Gm /EHsc /RTC1 /GS /fp:precise /Zc:wchar_t /Zc:forScope /Fp"Debug\dbinterface.pch" /Fa"Debug\" /Fo"Debug\" /Fd"Debug\vc100.pdb" /Gd /analyze- /errorReport:queue
For the Librarian Command Line:
Code:
/OUT:"C:\Users\Igor\OneDrive\Documents\dbhandler_app\dbhandler\Debug\dbinterface.lib" /NOLOGO
Thank you.

So Victor's advice was spot on?
