Port Windows project to Mac
Hi guys,
I have a C++ project in VS2017 for Windows and am curious how hard it would be to transfer this to a Mac.
Is this as simple as installing VS2017 on a Mac and importing the same project?
I currently don't have access to a Mac, so unfortunately I can't just test this for myself at the moment.
I would just like to estimate how much time and effort I should spend on this.
Thank you in advance!

Re: Port Windows project to Mac
If you use any OS specific API's, libraries etc then probably not. If the c++ project just uses 'standard' c++ and 'x-platform' libraries that are available for the Mac then I guess it probably should - although I should say that I have never used VS with a Mac.
All advice is offered in good faith only. All my code is tested (unless stated explicitly otherwise) with the latest version of Microsoft Visual Studio (using the supported features of the latest standard) and is offered as examples only - not as production quality. I cannot offer advice regarding any other c/c++ compiler/IDE or incompatibilities with VS. No, it's all just standard c++, which is why I'm curious if this can simply be exported to the Mac version of Visual Studio C++. Figuring this out would involve the purchase of a Mac, so I'm rather interested to know if anyone can just confirm to me that this is even possible.
