    Generate Tiny URL

    Hi All,

I would like to create an application to create Tiny URL from long URL.

Is there any sample code for me to refer.

    Thanks in advance

Search bing or google for "generate a tiny url programmatically". I searched bing and found the link to http://www.blackbeltcoder.com/Articl...rl-from-bit-ly.

[Edit] didn't notice you were coding in vb6. Maybe add 'vb6' to the search phrase?

VB6 was around long before tinyurl, so if you want it to interact with something new, you'll need to wrap that functionality into something VB6 can understand.

To me, that would be a COM object.

Therefore, what I would do is to write a COM callable assembly in C# that interacts with tiny url (the google search I mentioned in my 1st post will show you how in C#). Then register the assembly as a COM object and finally call the COM object from VB6.

Creating the COM callable assembly in C# would be quite a learning curve, but might be worth it.
