Curious that nobody gives any credit so far to cloning. After toilet, I believe it's the most important achievement.

I've seen a show on this matter. They stated that the greatest achievement of the 20th century was the ability to generate large volumes of affordable electricity, which reduced the amount of time that people had to spend in darkness around the country and led to the brighter future for us all (no pun intended.)
Imo, it's either that or pr0n .

A famous australian smart guy (good use of the language, hey!), Dr Karl (can't spell the surname but it is krusalinski or something like that) said the greatest invention was anisthetic. because of it, all sorts of medical things are now possible.
