Free RS232 Monitoring software?
Hi there,
Anyone knows a free software for Monitoring /data-log a serial link between a PC and a device?
If possible I would like to do it software-wise, ie. without having to make a special cable to hijack the serial link.
Thanks in advance,
Loic;

Re: Free RS232 Monitoring software?
Thanks golanshahar,
I had a quick look at the TTY, compiled it and started it.
However it seems I can't connect to a serial port if some device is already connected to it.
If that is so, how can I then spy on the data-flow bewteen my PC and the device with the TTY sample?
Cheers,
Loic.

Re: Free RS232 Monitoring software?
well if other application is connected to COM1 alreadly of course you will fail on the ::CreateFile(..) api.
monitoring the data that another application sending to the COM1 is not that trivial as i know. one way is to use API hooking and hook the ::WriteFile(..) , ::ReadFile(..) maybe also : eviceIOControl(..) and that way you can monitor the data transfer there.
maybe there is another (easy way) but i dont know.
Cheers
