Me too. I've already reported it, so it should go away soon too (until they get them fixed).

I'm continuing to watch for bad ads as well.

    Thanks,

    Brad!

It's not gone. Fx just crashed a minute ago. Seemed to be loading the main page, too.

EDIT: Arrgh! Crashed again on the VB page.

At 12:30 our ad guys reported it was removed. Should be gone now -- until it gets fixed.

Fx just crashed on a screen refresh after a few minutes. Not sure that it is the same problem. Will post back if it crashes again.

EDIT: Arrgh! Twice more within 3 minutes! Something is not right, still.

EDIT: 4 times in 45 minutes

All of those IBM ads I see make my CPU jump up to 100%.
The ads that on the side when browsing the forums.

    Re: Resource greedy ads

That's it. Too many crashes. Finally loaded IE 6.0 again, to see if that is the problem. Might have to clear the Fx Cache, too.

EDIT: 10 minutes later, IE crashed, and had a problem with the Flash.ocx. I went to Adobe's site, and found that I had the most recent version. Their page displayed correctly.

Brad Jones: I noticed that you've deleted my post just because I had a different solution to the problem than you. As moderator you should comment om posts like these insted of deleting them. I guess that 50 to 70% of the users have some kind of ad-block system installed on their machine.

    Re: Resource greedy ads

After closing Fx for a while, I restarted, loaded a few tabs, and looked at the process meter. It's been about 5 minutes, but the fan JUST quieted down here.

I can undelete the messages and ban the posters for stating publicly how to violate the Acceptable Usage Policy of this site, or I can delete the messages and we can all move on.... My error was in not sending emails to all those that have suggested how to violate the AUP so they would personally know why their messages were removed -- I thought it was obvious.

I believe the issue we are dealing with is a Flash issue more so than an Ad issue. Our sales guys have been working with us to get this resolved. The ads come from a third party server so it has been more difficult than fixing ads we create or manage.

I have Task Manager running again to watch ads. If one comes up that is continually eating CPU cycles, we will get it pulled off.
