Alan Simpson's WIndows Vista Bible Desktop Edition (Just released)
I rewrote this book for Vista. This was Alan's book for XP and I agreed to revise it. The changes from XP to Vista were much, much more work to incorporate than I thought. As such, I say I re-wrote rather than saying I updated. There were tons of little things that changed from XP to Vista. This is, of course, and end user book.
My next project is looking to be a revision of the Teach Yourself C++ in 21 Days book. If anyone has any feedback on that book -- complaints or praises -- feel free to send them my way. I may see about letting people review the book as it is being written just to make it the best book possible for people who want to learn C++. I'll know more about this project in the near future

quoted from C++ Coding Standards:
KISS (Keep It Simple Software):
Correct is better than fast. Simple is better than complex. Clear is better than cute. Safe is better than insecure.
Avoid magic number:
Programming isn't magic, so don't incant it.
