Question Smartphone recommendation for my requirements???

    Hi,

Can anyone recommend a value for money cell phone (/smartphone) that meets the requirements I have below? i.e. how cheap can I go to achieve this, but still to have a phone with reasonable useability. My location is Australia (iPhone doesn't seem to be available yet, i.e. not an option).

[1] (Mandatory) Normal/basic cell/mobile phone features [contacts, calendar, todo list, speaker phone]. Ability to synch.

[2] (Mandatory) Basic Web Browsing - Ability to log onto GMail to check my mail. Doesn't have to be the worlds best browser (re size of screen).

[3] (Mandatory) J2ME support - i.e. I can develop my own J2ME apps and load it onto my phone.

[4] (Desirable) - .NET compact framework support: That is, if there are phones that can support .NET as well as J2ME that would be nice. I don't want to add on hundreds of $$ just to get a phone that has .NET as well as J2ME support however.

[5] (Mandatory) Ability to run Skype at home over home wireless network.

    Some questions if thats ok:

Q1 - How does Web Browsing on a mobile phone work? What Telco network connectivity support should I be looking for? (doesn't have to be super fast)

Q2 - Are there any tips/tricks re getting a phone/plan for which the web browsing costs are capped or cheap. Are certain connectivity/network choices available that keep costs down?

    Thanks
    Greg
