    Compound Document Support terminology

    Hi

In MFC project wizard we can set Compound Document Support for our application. Here, some terms confused me.

For Compound document support, we may choose "Container". In MSDN:
    Contains linked and embedded objects.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...dk(VS.80).aspx
And we also can select Active document container in Additional options:
Indicates the application can contain active documents within its frame
What is the difference between "linked and embedded object" and "active documents"? Why is there an option for active document?

And also we can set Support for compound files in Additional options too.

There are 2 different options but what is the difference between "active documents" and "compound files"?

    Thanks..
