I know that there is software out there that will do the job I am looking for, but in this current economical climate just cant justify the cost at the moment, so I am looking for a little help..

What I would like to do is write a little app that is able to scan all PCs in a certain IP address range and scan the local hardrives on these PCs for certain files. Once the scan is finished a report is created that documents and list if any files have been found, the PC that the files were found on and there location on the PC. So for example an MP3 scan.

Any help is appreciated.
