New to the forums. <- Questions.
Hello everyone. I'm absolutely new to the forums, I could not find a general questions \ introductions section, so I have decided to ask here.
Is there any forum messaging system on codeguru? I wanted to PM a member of this forum, but could not find any messaging system in the user profiles or user CP.
A thread I have posted has appeared instantly, but when I have tried to post a reply, I was warned that, it must be validated by a moderator. I accidentally posted twice though, because I have not noticed the validation message after the first post. (Although neither of my posts have appeared yet). So why do the replies get validated by a moderator? Is that really necessary?

Re: New to the forums. <- Questions.
Hello Quisnam.
Yes, the moderation of posts is necessary, as there are many invalid posts containing spam, advertising, or just plain rubbish. That is just so that we acn indeed see that the post is valid
this won't go on forever, don't worry, it's usually the first post that undergoes this procedure.
There is a messaging system on CG. You will notice with every post, it shows the username of the member that has posted. If you click on that name, you may / may not get an option to either post a visitor message or a Private Message. Some people may have those options disabled, so that is why I said May / may not You will also get those options if you go to the user's Public Profile and click on Cantact Info. Please use this with caution, as many a member don't like getting PMs or VMs from new people requesting help.
You will also notice that your Private Messages etc. are turned off by default, so it will be difficult for people to correspond with you. You can fix this by going to your Control Panel ( User CP ) and selecting Edit Options.
I hope you come right
