Being called for job change
A couple of days ago, a middle man called and asked me if I would like to apply for another job position in another company with a better salary. Information of bigger $$ makes me sleepless . I just started to join my current company as a web developer and enter the world of dynamic type language 4 months ago. I have joined to fix only a couple of projects. I also think such a duration is still too short for me.
I live in South Africa, so if you understand the business background and living conditions in my country, please advise if I should leave for another company. Thank you a lot.

Re: Being called for job change
I think I am being crazy since I have a feeling just like I am accomplishing a mission soon by the fact that I am leaving the current company.

Re: Being called for job change
Well, there are lots of other aspects that you should consider, such as,
1. What exactly other company do?
2. How do they make money? If their major earning comes from foreign projects, then which countries they mostly deal and how the business is affected with the international affairs?
3. How do you see the stability of your current company and the new company.
4. What are the chances that after 2/3 months (assuming if you switch company), you won't face the situation where you'll be told that your services are no longer being required.
5. How do you see your career growth between these 2 companies.
6. Are there any perks at the table or any other benefits?
7. How do you compare the work environment between the two.
8. Do you really think that you are under paid, w.r.t. the average salary being offered in your city/country?
9. Is the new job contract based? or permanent?
10. What is the total size of the company?
11. What is the annual revenue of the company?
12. What exactly they are expecting from you? Off course for every single penny that you'll be paid, you'll have to render your services. So, how much rough will it be?
There might be many more, but they are just on the top of my head. Also, for some, you might not have full insight, off course no company will tell you that they are not equal opportunity employer with not so great place to work. You'll have to either use your good judgement or if you have any friend working there already, he might give you better feedback.
