Local GPO Security
Hi Guys,
I so hope that someone can help me. I'm in a bit of trouble with my win 2k pc. I am investigating the local group policy option that is part of the mmc. I noticed that there was an option to
"Run only allowed windows applications" So i followed the instructions, opened up the gpedit.msc and added all the .exe files that i want users to be able to use on the pc. But now my problem is when i log back into the pc as administrator it doesn't let me alter the gpedit.msc file anymore, which is what i altered in the first place. ahhhhhhh.
Please can someone help me.
Cheers

Hmm...oops
Can you still access regedit?
If that's a no, try system restore, if it's yes, let me know and I'll try to figure something out.

Thanks for your reply.
I thankfully managed to fix it. This is how I sorted it...
In Explorer go to c:\winnt\system32\Group Policy
Right-click, Properties, Security
Uncheck all permissions on the Administrator, check Deny read.
Exit.
Reboot.
Go back to explorer and give the Administrator full permissions again.
Run Gpedit
I'm so glad it worked.
Cheers
