    Recommended books

What is a good VB6 reference book?

I have my book from school , which provides examples and such
and believe me, I refer to it often
but are there any books that any of you would suggest I pick up?

I tend to forget the formats of certain code or how to do or apply something . It would be nice to have a book that is a little
more thorough than my old text book.
I do have the MSDN library but that is too confusing

    Thanks

    Hi.
this Q. should really be added to the FAQ.

if you are a very bginner use SAMS teach yourself VB6 in 21 days by Greg Perry (I hope i didn't misspell the name)

If you have an idea about VB6 you can use Sybex Mastering VB6 by Evangelous Petroutsus (sure I have a spelling mistake this time

Sorry, I just figured VB6 programming forum would be a good place to ask about VB6 programming books.

I took VB6 in college but need a good book for looking things
up. My memory doesn't work very well anymore

    Thanks for the reply

    Hi,

Peter Wright's 'Beginning Visual Basic 6' (published by Wrox) knocks the socks off SAMS 21 days effort.

I know SAMS is how a lot of you got started - myself included - but it lacks the depth provided by Wrox.

    Hope it helps.

I don't really need a book that teaches the basics in X number of days. I had VB programming in college last year. What I am really after is an actual reference book. That way, when I forget something (which is often), I can look it up.

I would recommend you: "Using Visual Basic 6 - Special Edition" by Braian Siler and Jeff Spotts. This is really the best Visual Basic book I have ever read!

    Good luck!

Yeah, but after the beginnign VB wrox book, they have a bunch more that go into advance VB topiocs. Check out their websites as the best way.
