Hi,
This port monitor was developed using the sample given
along with the Win95 DDK (%DDK-ROOT%
\Printer\Samples\Spooler\Localmon), as the base.
We developed the customized port monitor (referred to as
PM) by modifying the source given and we even managed to
use it and install it in the system.

For using this PM, I had to add a new port when I
installed the printer driver. During that continuous
session of the Windows, there is no problem in printing
out the data. But once Windows is shut down and
then restarted, if we print using the printer driver it
saves the whole data as a file on the local disk and does
not send the data over the port. The name of the file
used is actually the port name that was specified
earlier. This means to say that Win95 considers the port
name as a filename and stores data on disk.

Does anybody else know a way out of this? I tried to work
it out in different ways but was unsuccessful. How do I
make a newly added port, using the PM, be recognized as a
valid port in the ensuing sessions of
Windows?

Regards
Jp
