As for an object that reads/writes to the registry...there is this:

which allows you to use the more reasonable synatx:
'...snippet of larger code...
Dim rkThis as ApiRegKey
for Each rkThis In baseKey.SubKeys
If rkThis.Name = "temporary" then
'\\ delete that key...
End If
next rkThis
