Solution 1: copy internet explorer on to your system...(copy not install) - I may not work....
Solution 2: Install IE and uninstall it leaving behind the shared libraries... - May work
Solution 3: Same as solution 2 but back up registry after installing and restore after uninstall...
Solution 4: Use another IM software....IndiaTimes messenger can interact with MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AOL and Indiatimes. and also supports conference of different services....
Hope these help....

thanks, but I can't install IE, I'm on linux, and it won't install, I've tried everything. Also the reason I want MSN Messenger when i could use some of the programs that connect with it, is that I want the functionality of MSN Plus, put out by a third party website. If I just knew what it looks for to check for IE I could trick it into working.

no I mean after I have downloaded the setup file for msn messenger. I click on it to install and click yes 2 times and then it says that msn messenger now requires internet explorer, I wish I knew more assembly language, I would just take that part out :P
