Job Description:

The incumbent will work closely with product support to understand how the product is performing in the field. Work with development to resolve immediate issues and to improve both the product and the process for overall product quality. Provide communication of issues and technical leadership to development.

Analysis field problems which may span multiple sub systems. Facilitate communication between subsystems developers to resolve interface problems.

1. Analysis System outages and provide root cause analysis
2. Analysis critical field problems and provide root cause analysis
3. Participate in engineering design reviews.
4. Provide technical leadership to developers.
5. Provide a communication bridge from the field to development
6. Provide technical assistance to product support during system outages.
7. Works independently to meet goals.
8. Meets schedules.
9. Maintains regular contact with engineering and business personnel throughout the company.

Assist in design review of new features with emphasis on
• Availability
• Error handling
• PQA testing
• Maintainability
• Logs
• Remote support
• Upgradeability


Job Requirements:

• BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Strong debugging skills
• Experience in C/C++ and Unix shell scripts

• System level experience desired
• Oracle experience desired
• Ability to review and understand code written by other developers in a variety of languages (C++, SQL, Visual Basic, perl)
• Ability to work at a system level
• Ability to work with other developers in a non threatening way (position requires discussing with developers errors they introduced.
