Hi all,

I am really battling to find any information on how to register a machine
with at WINS server. Usually this would not be necessary as you could just
reboot the machine, but I am using MSMQ to pass messages to the client
machine.
Here is the scenario:
1) The client dials the internet and gets and IP address from the ISP.
2) The client sends a message to the server, giving the IP address and the
machine name.
3) The server application registers the client with the WINS server.
4) The server MSMQ automatically sends any waiting messages to the queue on
the client.
5) The client handles the messages.

My problem is I can't do step 3, and can't find any way to do that other
than modify the LMHOSTS file, which I really don't want to do, as I am then
responsible for removing the entries.

Anyone got any bright ideas? I really would appreciate it!
