    [RESOLVED] Restart windows service from a service

    Hi


    i was trying to restart one service from another service .but it is giving one error like this..

    System.InvalidOperationException was unhandled
    Message="Cannot stop alerts service on computer 'LIFETREE-BKMIYG'."

    here is my code

    Dim controller As New ServiceProcess.ServiceController
    controller.MachineName = My.Computer.Name
    controller.ServiceName = "alerts"

    If controller.Status = ServiceControllerStatus.Stopped Then
    controller.Stop()
    End If

    i am getting above error in "controller.Stop()" line. can any one help me to solve this error ?
