Parsing a for loop statement
Hello, our group was instructed by our professor to make a program that will parse a for loop statement. This project will serve as an application for what we have discussed about data structures. Now i need help on how to do it. I don't have any idea about parsing since it wasn't discussed by our professor. Our professor said that parsing is like or a part of a compiler but didn't expounded it further since it will be discussed in our 3rd or 4th yr. Giving the whole algorithm could help but if someone can give the whole code, it would be great. I just need an idea since we will make the program using c#.

Doesn't make sense if you're not studying compilers now. First thing to start with, is the grammar. What is the grammar of the for statement?

Re: Parsing a for loop statement
Try learning about LEX and YAAC first for know about grammar , parsing and stuff like that - which is a part of compiler as well.
