has anyone used this control with an Apex TrueDB Grid object?

has anyone ever had trouble getting a dynamic dropdown box to show up on a grid when both the grid and the dropdown are bound to different record sources??

please let me know.. i can't get it to show up at all... and i'm doing everything nessessary .. i think..
