Error spawning 'vcspawn.exe'. The build could not be performed.

Has anyone seen this error message before? I get this message almost immediatly when I try to compile any project.

History. I was forced to reformat my hard drive. Installed NT4.0 Server with SP4. I have a P450 w/128K or RAM and 15G drive. Installed MSDEV6.0 w/ SP3 and get the error any time I try to compile.

I've verified the file vcspawn.exe is installed on my machine (2 places: \Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\IDE\IDE98 and \Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\MSDev98\BIN

I have the environment setting set a path to where vcspawn.exe is located. I verified the Executables path is pointing to the directory where vcspawn.exe is located.

I've installed MSDEV over 4 times but still can't get this to work.

Anyone have any ideas??????
